This goes for all teams, but the “Keep It Simple, Stupid” mantra rings especially true for rookies. Kickoff and the first week of build season tend to be extremely exciting, innodating you with all the point scoring possibilities. However, remember that this is only useful if your robot can accomplish them consistently.

Instead, pick a particular area you really want to succeed in, and make your robot the absolute best it can be for that part of the challenge. You’ll find a lot more success by making one, quality part to your robot than making it able to do everything okayishly.
